The big THOR

Ok, you got me, a superhero movie, a great cast, lashing of special effects - it was always going to be a winner...

I loved the first movie and the second was no different, well, of course it was different, but the quality was as good, in my humble opinion.

Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, really did shine in this sequel and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of his character's wicked tricks.

With Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Idris Elba, who doesn't love this man? as Heimdall and Christopher Eccleston as Malekith,  and Renee Russo as Frigga, Thor's Mother, this cast is just perfect.

The film itself is full of humour as you would expect and no expense has been spared on the make up and effects, which were worth every penny, although I do feel for the cast members who were apparently in make up at least 6 hours per day before even stepping on set! Neither does the story disappoint, it's fast paced, tragic and action packed from the start. The only negative I can find in this film experience was perhaps the final battle was a little over-eggedandlong winded - but really, apart from tha, which really is a little 'nit picky' this was a great escape from daily life and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
