tattoos and dodgy haircuts

Well yes, there's plenty of both here. We are of course talking about the Hollywood version of 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

I am a little ashamed to admit it, but I didn't read the trilogy, nor have I seen the subtitled films and I'm not sure if I would have ventured into the cinema if I had. Please don't mistake that comment for a criticism of the film, far from it, it was excellent, I cannot fault it. But, and there is a but, for those of you who are expecting Hollywood to pull the punches a little, Don't. From what I hear, this is every bit as graphic as it is portrayed in the book and original film. On a scale of 1 to 10 of graphic content I would say this is trying to reach 11...

Sher-locked

Ok, I admit it, only one episode into the new series and I am truly Sherlocked, along with a significant number of other people, I understand. So much so, that I just had to stand up and share my addiction with you all! Pure brilliance, if you haven't seen it, then stop reading and log onto iplayer...seriously, go... now!

New resolution...

Well, Happy New Year and I hope you all had a great Christmas (without too many family dramas...). I just wanted to share with you one particular Christmas gift which I think will make all the difference to my 2012, The 'ONE SKETCH A DAY' journal, thank you for this Dan.

...and no I am not talking about the leading men, but the film. If you enjoyed the first, fast paced film, you will love this one. Pay attention though, try not to get distracted by your dropped popcorn... because every second counts in this masterpiece of modern film making.

Ray Villafane has managed, through some of the most challenging temporary mediums, to create heavenly sculptures using some hellish subject matter. Not all of it is hellish mind you, there's a lot of science fiction and fantasy focus in there too...

Farewell to old pals

A sad start to the week as we say goodbye to the pinkfrog unofficial mascot 'Harry the fire bellied toad' (technically a frog, but due to their bumpy skin – known as toads) and his tank chum 'Lucky, the fire bellied newt, who both died this weekend, aged 7 and 9 years respectively.
